Bridges Vancouver - CSIL: You're the Boss! March 26, 2011

Hey Bridges youth in the Lower Mainland,

Topic: CSIL: You're the Boss!

Description: Guest Speaker Paul Gauthier will lead a workshop on CSIL (Choice in Supports for Independent Living) and EATI (Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative). Both of these programs help individuals with disabilities live independent and successful lives. Youth will work with Paul to look at their daily needs, how the CSIL program works, and how to deal with conflicts that may arise.

As per usual, snacks and drinks will be provid...ed and lots of time for socializing and playing games! Who is excited for more riddles.....!!?

Guest Speaker Biography: Paul Gauthier is the Network Coordinator of the British Columbia Personal Supports Network, which is currently operating its first project – the Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative (EATI). He has been involved in many initiatives to improve the lives of people with disabilities, uniting a variety of organizations and providing individuals with the supports they need to fully participate in society.

In the past Paul has worked with individuals, groups and the government to create successful and innovative programs, including an individualized funding program for home support that allows individuals to have more control and flexibility. The new Equipment funding project is equally innovative, allowing people to access what they need to achieve their goals.

Paul is also a four-time Paralympian – an athlete in the sport of boccia. At the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens he won the Gold medal in individual competition and bronze with his teammate in Pairs.
