Bridges to the Future is a transition program for YOUTH aged 15-24 with a physical disability. More information can be found out about the program here: www.bridgesothefuture.ca. Workshops are designed for youth aged 15-24 to have a chance to learn about transition topics together, with other youths.
The Bridges to the Future April workshop is on the Registered Disability Savings Plan, and will be presented by the Richmond Centre for Disability. Learn more about this new federally registered savings plan delivered by the Government of Canada. You may be eligible to receive annual grants of up to $3500 depending on your contribution and family income, and even with no financial contribution you may received up to $1000 a year. Having an RDSP does not impact Federal Benefits or provincial social assistance support programs. Youth will have a chance to mix and mingle, eat some snacks, and get to know one another before and after the workshop.
Parents: While your youth are attending Bridges to the Future events, there are many coffee shops and restaurants located on Main Street for you to enjoy. On Saturday’s, at Hillcrest Park (across the street from Riley Park Community Centre) there is a local market, swimming pool, and park.
