Scholarship Applications due June 30

Are you currently enrolled in Grade 12 and entering post-secondary training next year at a university or technological institute? Are you currently enrolled in post-secondary school and continuing on next year?

If you aren't already aware, Muscular Dystrophy Canada has three different scholarships available to young adults living in BC & Yukon: Kit Davison Bursary, BC/Yukon Fire Fighters' Helping Hand Bursary and Canada Safeway's Moving Muscles Scholarship.

Each of these scholarships can be awarded to more than one individual. Get your applications in and offset your costs for school!

YIA Registration

Youth In Action 2012 is approaching. Have you registered yet?

If you were wanting to go to the conference and want to apply for a travel grant to help cover the cost, please note that the applications for travel grants are due March 31, 2012. To be eligible, you must be a registered client of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and be between the ages of 15 and 24 by December 31, 2012. Registration to participate in the conference will not close on the same date.

Outdoor Recreation Forum

Continuing on with our Goal Making for the Year.... let's get more active!

BCPA, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre and Blusson Spinal Cord Centre Present...

SCI Forum 2012 - Get Out There: Outdoor Recreation for Everyone!

This interactive and educational forum brings together organizations like Whistler Adaptive Sport, Adaptive Wilderness Adventures, and real people with disabilities to share their experiences, advice and collective passion for getting active outdoors.

The programming will feature a mixture of presentations by organizations on their services and from Peers who have great stories to share about their personal experiences.

Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided.
