Involvement Opportunity - Reader with a Cause

Oct 21, 2010

Do you enjoy writing? Has Muscular Dystrophy Canada helped you in someway? The Reader with a Cause (http://www.forkidssakeawards.com/faq.html) awards program run by the magazine Today's Parent may be perfect for you. To enter the competition, you have to tell your story: Maybe you got involved as a volunteer, maybe you got involved with the MuscleFacts program or Bridges program, maybe Muscular Dystrophy Canada gave you an equipment grant, maybe you saw other youth benefit from their interactions with Muscular Dystrophy Canada, the list goes on!  Whether you are personally involved in the charity or have benefited from its efforts, your story could reap that cause a sizeable donation.

Today's Parent selects one such Reader With a Cause to honour in each issue. This winner will be profiled in the magazine, and will receive a $2,000 donation (courtesy of KRG Children's Charitable Foundation) for the registered charity he or she chooses. At the end of the year, three grand prize winners will be selected from the 12 winners profiled through that year. The grand prize winners will receive an additional $8,000 donation to their charities.

Website under construction

October 13, 2010 - The Bridges program and website are undergoing an uplift, the current website is under construction (that's why you may notice the deadlinks and the old information). Please check back soon to see what the new Bridges program has to offer you! If you have any comments or suggestions about the Bridges program and what you hope to see from it in the future, please contact the Bridges to the Future Coordinator at kim.stewart@muscle.ca. The program is undergoing an evaluation and a rejuvenation, but in the mean time, enjoy the fall weather and start finding your halloween costume!
