Guest Speakers:
Barb Vincent and Rita Grewal from Triumph Vocational Services will talk about disclosing your disability in the workplace.
Triumph Vocational Services creates opportunities for people with disabilities in British Columbia to develop skills, increase independence and participate in the workplace. http://www.triumphvocational.com/
Chris Wright from Neil Squire Society will talk about interview skills and the power of a strong cover letter and resume. She will talk about the steps that will take you toward a successful career if you cover all your bases. Youth are encouraged to bring a copy of their current resume if they have one.
The Neil Squire Society, for over twenty-five years, has empowered Canadians with physical disabilities through the use of computer-based assistive technologies, research and development, and various employment programs. http://www.neilsquire.ca/

Bridges to the Future is a transition program for YOUTH aged 15-24 with a physical disability. More information can be found out about the program here: http://www.bridgesothefuture.ca/. Workshops are designed for youth aged 15-24 to have a chance to lear...n about transition topics together, with other youths. If you are a youth with a physical disability you are invited to attend our monthly workshops!

Parents: While your youth are attending Bridges to the Future events, there are many coffee shops and restaurants located on Main Street for you to enjoy. On Saturday’s, at Hillcrest Park (across the street from Riley Park Community Centre) there is a local market, swimming pool, and park.
