Looking to developing your leadership skills and unique ways to get involved? Come to the City of Vancouver’s YouthPolitik civic leadership conference! Here’s a chance to have a banquet dinner with 200 other youth from across Vancouver, mingle with politicians and get involved with your city. The free event takes place on Nov 26th-27th (Friday evening and all-day Saturday) and all meals are provided. Bonus: it’ll look great on your resume! What is it?
YouthPolitik is the City of Vancouver’s civic education and youth leadership development program for all Vancouver youth ages 15-20. On November 26th & 27th at the Vancouver Public Library central branch, we will be hosting a free conference for 250 Vancouverites.What do delegates do?
Participants at the conference will have an opportunity to take part in interactive workshops where they will:
- learn how civic government works
- explore issues facing our city
- build leadership skills
- become inspired through interactions with elected officials and community leaders.
Is it free?Absolutely! All activities and meals are provided free for all participants.
What is the time commitment?
The event takes place on a Friday evening and all day Saturday (Nov. 26th and 27th). The Friday evening event is a banquet and social activity that allows delegates to mingle and network with 250 peers and community leaders from across the city. The Saturday will be a full day of interactive civic education and leadership development workshops. Delegates will not miss any school.
